Honeybee Hut – Tupelo Honey
Harvested from the Apalachicola River, Florida Panhandle
Our Tupelo Honey is one of Florida’s most iconic and highly prized honeys. Sourced from the blooms of the White Ogeechee Tupelo tree, this rare honey can only be produced in a small stretch of the Apalachicola River basin in the Florida Panhandle. Because the bloom is extremely limited and land access is scarce, we proudly partner with trusted local beekeepers in the region to bring you pure, authentic Tupelo Honey each season.
The Tupelo bloom lasts only 10–14 days, sometimes slightly longer depending on weather conditions. This short, delicate bloom window—combined with the unique river-swamp habitat—makes true Tupelo Honey rare and deeply tied to the timing of each spring.
Our Tupelo Honey is known for its light golden color, buttery-smooth texture, delicate floral sweetness, and soft fruity undertones. Thanks to its naturally high fructose content, it is also famously slow to crystallize, staying silky and pourable much longer than other honeys.
Local honey is typically harvested within 50–100 miles of where it’s sold, while regional honey can extend to about 300 miles. While our Tupelo Honey is harvested outside Northeast Florida, it is a celebrated regional Florida specialty and one of the most revered honeys in the world.
