About Us

We’re a family-run beekeeping business based in Callahan, Florida, creating raw, creamed, and specialty honey from our own hives.

What started as a simple idea—to spend more quality time together outdoors as a family—quickly turned into something much more. We wanted our boys to gain real hands-on experience—from caring for bees, building hives, and lighting a smoker to learning teamwork, responsibility, problem-solving, and staying active. It’s the kind of learning that comes from doing, not from a screen. Along the way, beekeeping gave us a way to slow down, stay connected, and spend more time outside together.

At Honeybee Hut, it’s not a large commercial operation—it’s our family working side by side. Our boys play a big role in the apiary, helping with hive checks, lifting frames, monitoring hive health, and learning the business along the way.

Beekeeping also runs in our family, with beekeepers on both sides, so in many ways, it feels like this path found us after skipping a couple of generations.

As our passion grew and we ran out of space—and the long drives to care for the bees became more time-consuming—we made the decision to move our family to Callahan to be closer to our hives and the rich forage near Cary State Forest, where most of our bees are located. Our bees also forage across Nassau, Duval, and St. Johns counties, giving each batch of honey its own unique local character.

Every jar we produce reflects our family’s work, our bees, and the land around us—true local honey from Northeast Florida.
